At A Birth Center, every effort is made to create the loving, intimate feeling of an at-home birth, while providing the safety of continuous one-on-one care. Either as A Birth Center or the hospital, you'll have the support of our highly skilled and caring team of professionals during your prenatal care, labor, and birth. We are your midwifery experts!
A Birth Center can offer you the safety you are looking for. In the event you need more specialized care, our physician owner, Wayne DiGiacomo MD, FACOG can continue the same compassionate care in the hospital without you leaving our circle of care. Our relationship with Memorial Hospital East is excellent. Unlike other Birth Centers in South Florida, a transfer is seamless and means you are treated with the respect you deserve from hospital staff when you arrive to continue your care under Dr. DiGiacomo and his associates.
Your cultural and religious needs are important to us. Staff members are educated in various religious and national traditions and have great respect for all beliefs. Please let us know about your particular requirements such as modesty, transportation from the center to your home on the Sabbath or specialized dietary issues.
Coalition for Childbirth Choices provides care with a team of midwives and professionals led by Janice Heller LM who can deliver the best in Pregnancy, Birth, Family Planning andWell Woman care at our center. Not only is Janice the most experienced and skilled midwife in the area, she is a Acupuncture Physician and skilled herbalist and practitioner of homeopathy. Janice can deliver the perfect combination of modern medicine and alternative therapies so you can have the safest birth possible.
Our facility houses both our medical office and birth center. A Birth Center features three attractive birth suites in a variety of beautiful decors, just like your bedroom, with additional amenities to cater to your individual preferences. Low lighting and battery powered candles offer an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Listen to the music of your choice with our iPod docking stations and keep in touch with friends and family around the world via Skype with our free internet connection. Regular size beds keep you comfortable and there is plenty of space in our suites and community room for your support partners and family. Each birth suite has a Jacuzzi whirlpool tub to allow you to soak in comfort or even use for your water birth. Birth balls and other accessories such as aromatherapy and birthing chairs/stools help you birth in more comfort. Acupuncture, homeopathy and therapeutic massage is available from our licensed midwives if needed. Our kitchen area offers a seating area, a microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot and full size refrigerator so you and your family can bring the food of your choice to meet your individualized needs.
